On the darkness the ray of the Word descended, and there was loosed a violent cry, like the voice of light.
And afterwards, man was created by the infamous God of Israel, and he lay on the mud, hideous, feeble, shapeless, without thought.
But tender-hearted Sophia quickened him with a particle of her soul. Then seeing that man was so beautiful, God was seized with anger. He imprisoned him in his kingdom, forbidding him the tree of knowledge. The other, once again, came to his help! She sent the serpent, who by long roundabout ways made him disobey that law of hate. And man, when he had tasted knowledge, understood heavenly things.
(tapping his heel, snapping his fingers, shaking his head, intones in a furious rhythm)
